Welcome to 1989, A Year as a Book. Whilst some of this year has featured in 'Resurrection and Return', the focus on solely one year allows for the inclusion of letters in detail, of fuller diary entries from Mum, seeing her and Dad's life in more detail, and of a larger selection of photographs than was chosen to be more selective in the volume with greater scope. As such, this book is a celebration of the year 1989 across the whole family, rather than mainly focusing upon myself in an autobiographical fashion. Throughout it, I am at university, completing my first year and starting my second, whilst my sister is finishing her 5th Year at secondary school and starting at college. Mum is working both as a supply teacher, mainly with junior-aged children, whilst Dad has been made redundant from Thomas Cook, but is involved in the handover of the warehousing from Peterborough to Manchester, and having to travel up there.
