1986
Jon N. Davies1986 was an important year in my life. It was the year I turned 16 in the July. It was the year I finished school, doing my 'O' Levels in the Spring and Summer. And the year I went into the Sixth Form in the September, deciding at the last moment to study Economics for A Level, instead of Geography. It was the year I started playing Badminton, attending the club at my church, and playing tennis, using the courts at Thomas Cook's Peterborough headquarters, where my Dad worked. It was the year we went to France and to Andorra in an epic 3-week holiday in the motorhome. It was the first year I kept a day-by-day journal, having started it in early December 1985. And it was the year of the Independent Order of Foresters, which our family had joined, and where the events and the new friends we made added some of the most memorable occasions to the year. This 2nd edition was expanded with the discovery of my Mum's appointment diary for the year, which has allowed the firming up of several dates, and the inclusion of more photographs that match to these. This 3rd edition is probably the last update possible, adding in a postcard, and photographs from my albums, labelled with the date of events, some of which are recorded, others not, but now have a date to them.
