1985

1985 has been pieced together from Dad's logbook for the holidays in the Buccaneer, from letters from school pertaining to the Switzerland holiday, and my fieldwork folder for that holiday, from labelled photographs in my albums, and from my diary journal which I began in December 1985, and which thus covers the last few weeks of the year. Ephemera such as a couple of postcards, and my 'O' Level notification papers complete the primary sources. In addition, the story I began in North Wales, 'The Awakening; is featured here in part, to give a taste of my writing in the period. 1985 saw the last two terms of my 4th Year at secondary school, and the first term of my 5th Year. I took 'O' Level Maths and English Language a year early, in the June. Westgate Church was also a big part of my life at the time, with regular Sunday attendance, and friends there. In the Autumn I also joined the Young Enterprise scheme with a few of my friends (and some not so friends) and this was held in the local Pearl Assurance offices in Thorpe Wood.
